A short guide for getting the most out of Sudeb. For shorter questions, see our FAQ page as well.

1. What is Sudeb?

Sudeb is a simple tool for personal and shared debt/receivable tracking. You can share a list with a spouse, partner, accountant, or family member and track payments from one place. Data is stored encrypted on the server; only you and the users you share with can access it.

2. Creating a list

Create a new list from the Lists section in the app. Each list has a name, an optional color, and a base currency (TRY, USD, EUR, etc.). Switch between lists to keep different contexts (personal, business, family) separate.

Free accounts can create up to 100 active lists. Pro has no limit.

3. Adding debts and receivables

Inside a list, add a record with New debt or New receivable. For each record:

  • Amount and currency (does not have to match the list's base currency).
  • Person/label — who is the record for?
  • Description (optional) — Markdown-supported note field; formatting is sanitized against XSS.
  • VAT rate (optional) — options like 0%, 1%, 8%, 10%, 18%, 20%; total VAT is calculated automatically.
  • Date — defaults to today's date.

4. Payment / collection records

On a debt or receivable, use Add payment (for debt) or Add collection (for receivable) to record partial payments. Sudeb keeps each record as a separate row (debt log); the original amount doesn't change, and the remaining amount decreases automatically.

All payment history is shown in date order; you can delete or edit an accidentally entered record. Past activity is retained for financial transparency.

5. Sharing a list

Open a list and use the Share menu to invite another Sudeb user by email. Once accepted, the other user can view and edit the list and all its debts/receivables and payment records.

You can revoke sharing from the menu any time. List ownership stays with you; only the owner can permanently delete the list or re-share it.

6. Recurring payments

Define a recurring template for periodic payments like rent, subscriptions, or installments. You set the amount, currency, description, and frequency (weekly, monthly, yearly). A background job runs each morning and generates actual debt/receivable records from templates that are due.

If you wish, you can also trigger it manually with Generate now from the template detail. To pause a template, turn off its active flag; previously generated records are unaffected.

7. Currencies and net position

Each record is held in its own currency. On the list detail and account overview, you see your net position: receivables minus debts, both as a per-currency total and as an estimated value converted to the list's base currency.

Exchange rates are refreshed daily via Frankfurter (European Central Bank data). The conversion is informational; verify with your own source for financial decisions.

8. CSV export

From a list detail, use Download CSV to export all records as a UTF-8 BOM, semicolon-separated CSV file. Excel and Numbers open it directly in Turkish locales. Always available for data portability under GDPR/KVKK.

9. Pro subscription

Sudeb Pro is purchased via the mobile app (iOS App Store / Google Play). Pro removes the free-plan limits and unlocks PDF statements, batch invoicing, advanced rate-card units, the editor role and a fourth reminder stage.

Subscriptions are started, auto-renewed, and cancelled through your store's settings. Web purchase is not available right now. After cancellation, Pro features remain active until the end of the period; then the account reverts to the free tier.

10. Account deletion

You can delete your account in two ways:

  • 30-day cancellation window (recommended): Create an account deletion request from profile settings. You can cancel by signing in for 30 days; after this period, the account and all data are permanently deleted.
  • Immediate permanent deletion: Use the Permanently delete flow in account settings — after password verification and email match, the account and all linked data (lists, debts, payment records, recurring templates) are irreversibly deleted.

Dangerous actions are recorded in the audit log and a confirmation email is sent. Detailed information at the account deletion page.
